Dr. Rohini Mattoo obtained an M.Sc. from the M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, where her research work included unravelling the microbial diversity of the aquatic environment (Arabian Sea and a lake in Vadodara). She then earned her PhD at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. For her post-doctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, USA, Dr. Mattoo established fundamental tools and foundations in the field of tuberculosis research and also characterized a novel cell wall enzyme from an emerging opportunistic pathogen. At the Divecha Centre for Climate Change, Indian Institute of Science, Dr. Mattoo’s research focuses on climate change biology, microbiome, soil rhizosphere, and sustainable agroecosystems.
