The Japan Nodal Office for the Global Land Programme (GLP) is focused on vulnerability, resilience, and sustainability of land systems. Its key stakeholders include the Department of Environmental Sciences/Geographical Sciences from various universities across Japan. As a major research hub, it leads efforts to understand land-use changes and their impact on global sustainability.

Non-FE research in Japan also supports broader sustainability science efforts. The Nodal Office is expected to continue its leadership role in advancing research that fosters resilient land-use systems, ensuring sustainable management of resources for the future.
