Future Earth Philippines advocates for the active participation of all sectors in the national effort to enhance the country’s biocapacity and reduce its ecological footprint as pathways to sustainability and risk resilience. As part of Future Earth National/Regional Entities, we aim to advance science and technology innovation while fostering a culture of integrity, equity, and Filipino values to support a progressive and resilient Philippines. Future Earth Philippines conducts a weekly SDG Action Hour webinar every Friday, which is now on its 100th episode.

Our current focus is on strengthening national capacity to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Knowledge-to-Action Programs for Sustainability (KAPS). Additionally, we provide science-based policy recommendations to promote sustainability and resilience. Future Earth Philippines has organized the Philippines’ Universities SDG Action Network, with three pilot universities from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It is currently helping the provinces of Pampanga and Bulacan in Central Luzon to provide landscape-level, ridge-to-reef understanding of the flooding problem, which hopefully is the solution.
